By 2021, 2,409 GW of renewable energy had been installed worldwide in the first two decades of the 21st century. The International Energy Agency indicates that installed renewable capacity will increase by virtually the same order of magnitude, about 2,383 GW, in the next few years between 2022 and 2027. By comparison, Uruguay’s total installed capacity is 4.9 GW. In this report, we review some of the highlights from IEA’s recent “Renewables 2022” report.
