Below we present some of the most important facts and data about energy that have occurred in Uruguay in the past year.
Electricity demand. After two years of decline, the country’s electricity demand increased again in 2021, by 2.1%. This reached 11.2 TWh, marking the second highest value in history, surpassed only by that of 2018. In addition, on June 28 at 19:58, demand reached a record high for the country at 2,128 MW. It is worth noting that this peak has already been exceeded in 2022. On January 14 at 14:35, demand reached 2,185 MW, according to UTE.
